Penn National Reveals Hollywood Morgantown Opening Next Month
Penn National is opening yet another satellite casino, this time in Morgantown with an opening date set for December 22nd.
Penn National Gaming is at it again. The company announced this week that its second satellite casino in Pennsylvania will be open for business by next month. The operator has been working hard on its Hollywood Casino Morgantown over the past few months, with the doors to the facility ready to open on December 22 at noon, as long as the final regulatory approvals are given.
The new casino is located at I-76, I-176, and the Morgantown Expressway, making it easy for locals as well as visitors to enjoy the many services the property provides. Once opened, this casino will be the second satellite venue for Penn and its fourth overall gaming venue, along side Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
Ready to Open for Business
Officials of the new casino are ready to get the ball rolling on operations. The Vice President and General Manager for Hollywood Casino Morgantown, Marc Guastella, commented that the countdown for the grand opening starts now, with the facility excited to open soon and welcome patrons to the property that offers dining, entertainment, and gaming.
The casino is 80,000 square feet in size and is home to 750 slots and 30 table games. There is even an outdoor gaming terrace that is climate controlled so players can enjoy games in an outdoor setting. For sports bettors, the casino will also offer a Barstool branded sportsbook. The sportsbook will be home to betting windows and kiosks for easy betting.
The property is also home to three different dining options. Tony Luke’s is bringing a restaurant to the casino and a Red Lotus Asian Kitchen will also be located on-site.
Testing Phase First
Before it opens on December 22, the casino will have two test days. These special days will be invitation only. Proceeds from gaming during the testing days will go to local charity organizations. Such charities including Jarett Yoder Foundation, United Way of Berks County, and Honey Brook Food Pantry.
The casino is excited to provide support to the local organizations that serve Chester, Berks, and Lancaster counties. Penn National is committed to engaging with the community and partnering with groups to help those in need in the area.
The Hollywood Casino Morgantown property cost $111 million in total investment. The property will offer 375 new employment positions and there are still openings to be filled. A career center was created for the casino so that potential employees can easily apply.
Positions on offer include food and beverage service, casino operations, marketing, human resources, security and surveillance. Anyone interested in employment can apply in person by visiting the center or going online to the Penn National Gaming career page.
As Penn National prepares to open this new Pennsylvania casino, the company continues to expand its footprint within the United States. The company offers more than 40 facilities in 20 states. Penn is focused on becoming an innovative omni-channel provider of both online and retail gaming. The company operates under several names alongside Hollywood like L’Auberge and Ameristar. Penn also works with the Barstool Sports brand and recently acquired Score Media and Gaming, Inc.
For online gaming, Penn operates under Penn Interactive. The company operates retail sports betting, online social casino, online casino products, and bingo. As more opportunities in the online sector and land-based industries come available in the US, it would not be surprising to see Penn involved.
