Penn National Gaming Ready to Hire for Satellite Casino
Penn National Gaming is currently in search of employees for its new Hollywood Casino Morgantown satellite venue.
Satellite casinos in Pennsylvania have been legalized since 2017 but it has taken years to see venues up and running. Penn National Gaming is close to launching its Hollywood Casino Morgantown venue, with a need now for employees. The property is located in Caernarvon Township and is situated at the Morgantown exit. Currently, the property needs just under 400 employees before it can open for the public.
Opening Soon
The plan is to have the casino open by the end of the year, which is just a few months away. The property has 80,000 square feet of gaming space and cost $111 million to create. Players can visit the casino once it opens and access 30 table games as well as 750 slot machines. Sports bettors will find a Barstool branded sportsbook with options for dining and drinks onsite as well.
Penn National will open the category 4 casino, a mini venue, in its home county. The operator announced late last week that a career center is up at the local Holiday Inn to help find employees for the new gaming property.
Interested parties can travel to the career center Monday to Friday to apply from 9am until 5:30 pm. The operating hours of the career center are expected to expand as time goes on. The casino is in need of both part time and full-time workers.
Available Positions
The casino is in need of help for several positions including food and beverage, human resources, casino operations, marketing, security and surveillance, and more. On the casino floor, the property needs to fill table game dealer positions.
To help push forward with this effort, the casino operator is opening a Table Games Dealer School at the career center. The school will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in two and four hour segments. Participants will be new hires that will learn at the school for free.
The free dealer school is a great opportunity for any individual that is seeking employment and is interested in the gambling industry. With the training provided at no cost, table game dealers have the ability to earn compensation for the position as well as any tips they may receive.

Senior Vice President of Regional Operations for Penn National, Erin Chamberlin, commented on the new hires by stating that the company is thrilled to be accepting applications for the property from residents in nearby counties.
Penn National Gaming expects the new property to be a big hit among the locals as well as travelers. The company has a long history in the gaming industry and has the right expertise to get the venue up and running as quickly as possible with premium services on-site.
Penn National also operates the Hollywood Casino located at the Penn National Race Course. This casino can be found in the East Hanover Township. The company also operates the Hollywood Casino York, its first satellite casino in Pennsylvania. The property opened in mid-August and offers just over 500 slot games and 24 table gaming options.
It will be interesting to see if the two satellite casinos will be equally successful or if one will take precedence over the other. Only time will tell if players will take to the smaller venues and how well they generate revenues for the state and local area as well as the operator.
